MSc Programme – Human Factors & System Safety
We can proudly announce that one of our consultants, Sara Lind, has now started her education towards a second Master’s degree. For the next two years, Sara will study Human Factors & System Safety at Lund University here in Sweden. The master programme will run part-time, which enables Sara to be available to our customers in parallel with her education.
In the programme there are practitioners from the Netherlands, Belgium, USA, Switzerland, Canada, and Brazil, representing many different industries and domains. The exchange of experiences will be an important complement to theory and literature. The program includes courses as “The new view of human factors & system safety”, “The sociology of safety and accidents”, “Accountability and learning from failure” and “Methods in safety science”. The second half of 2025 will be spent writing a thesis.
A long-term goal with having Sara participate in the programme is for her to deepen her theoretical knowledge, but also to further develop critical thinking, ask challenging questions and to present more elaborate reasoning – All to be able to deliver high quality products to our customers in their quest for continuously improved safety.
Risk Pilot sponsors Sara’s education as we highly value competence development in our employees. We are sure that the knowledge and experiences gained during the program will benefit other employees, but also the company as a whole.
In mid-January, Sara spent an introductory week in Lund, participating in the first Learning Lab which focused on Critical thinking in safety; “It was an incredibly intense, but very interesting week, with many new impressions. I have started to get to know my fellow students and it has been great fun! It will be two very exciting years and I’m looking forward to getting lost in books and articles while being challenged to broaden my perspectives and, probably, going through some personal development as well.”
